The ginger sheep, that's what I call it. I first saw it in an animal park in Bad Mergentheim and completely fell in love with it. They are so cuddly, I never expected that from sheep. If I ever get my dream farm they are first on the list. The lambs are born golden red and get lighter with age.

The wool has a lovely red hue and wasn't as dirty as the one I spun yesterday but I did feel my fingers a bit dusty after I was done spinning. It is just as coarse though, and not very well sorted.

There are just a few thousand sheep left of this breed, spread across Bayern, Hessen and Lower Saxonia.
